Great seasons came to disappointing ends for Tascosa and Canyon girls basketball teams on Friday.

The Lady Rebels first trip to the Regional Tournament since the early '90's ended with a 53-29 loss to a talented team from South Grand Prairie.  Tascosa committed 24 turnovers in the game. The Lady Rebs finish the season with a 29-8 record.

Shooting woes doomed Canyon's chances in a 48-31 loss to four-time defending 4A state champion Argyle. The Lady Eagles went 2 for 20 from beyond the arc as Argyle pulled away in the 4th quarter. Canyon ends the 26-7.

Two local boys teams moved into the Regional Quarterfinals with blowout wins.

Palo Duro raced past El Paso Eastwood 62-45 while Caprock routed El Paso 72-47.

The Dons will meet Wichita Falls Rider in the third round Tuesday in Childress, while the Longhorns will battle District 3-5A foe Lubbock Monterey at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Canyon High School.

Two other boys teams lost 2nd round games on Friday to wrap up their seasons.

Tascosa fell Euless Trinity 64-45 and Canyon was beaten by Clint 57-51.
