It was a great night for teams on the Texas Panhandle Sports Network on Friday (and Saturday) as they all won games.

After starting three and a half hours late due to thunderstorms, the Palo Duro Dons hit the ground running at Lowrey Field-Plains Capital Park and came away with a 54-13 win over the Lubbock High Westerners.  The game finally ended just before 1:30 A.M. on Saturday.

The Dons spread the scoring around as Quarterback Dondray Degrate threw three touchdown passes, one each to Jeremiah Patterson, Octavious Patterson and Israel Guevara. Also, Charles Anderson had two rushing scores, including an 83 yard run for a touchdown. Treyson Dilworth also ran for two TD's and Tony Green had a 21 yarder for a score.

A huge shout out to the TPSN broadcasters who were there to the end.  Thanks to Jensen Porter and Danny Burba for waiting through it all to get the game on the air.

Amarillo High won a back and forth battle with Monterey to open District 2-5A Division One play with a big win.

The Sandies jumped out to a 17-7 lead only to see the Plainsmen score 24 unanswered points before Amarillo High scored the last 10 points to grab the win.

Jake Maynard, Rhett Maynard, Blake Bedwell each had rushing touchdowns for the Sandies and placekicker John Grist booted two field goals, including the game-winner from 28 yards out with one minute left.

Canyon improved to 6-0 on the season with a 38-0 shutout of Big Spring.

Quarterback Lawton Rikel threw two touchdown passes and ran for another. Joe Shaw and Cade Olson were on the receiving end of the TD passes, while Jake Gilley and Seth Nickell both had rushing toucdowns in the victory. Brayden Welch added a field goal as well.
