Canyon scored in every inning and pulled away for a 9-4 win over Lubbock Trinity Christian at Conner Park on Friday afternoon.

The 3-4A champion Eagles have already completed district play and met Trinity in a tune up for the playoffs.

Brett Cobb certainly looked ready for the playoffs.  He led Canyon hitters with two home runs, a single, a double and 5 RBI.

Cade Olson was credited with the victory on the mound. He went three innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three. Keith Contreras, Reese Seideman, and Jackson Aragon all pitched well in relief as the Eagles improved to 15-9-1 on the season.

Canyon will play another non-district game to wrap up the regular season as the Eagles travel to Lubbock on Tuesday to face the Monterey Plainsmen.

Also on Friday, Randall and Palo Duro played their District 3-5A contest that was postponed by wet grounds on Thursday at Randall High School.  The Raiders took a 5-1 win over the Dons to keep their very slim playoff hopes alive.

Cooper Brice had 3 hits, including a home run. Dathan Escoto also finished with 3 hits and Hagan Escoto had a hit and two RBI for the Raiders, who improved to 16-13 on the season and 7-7 in district play.

The Dons drop to 9-20 overall and 2-12 in district.
