Canyon didn't take long on Monday to put the finishing touches on a win over Hereford in a game delayed from Friday.

The Eagles and Whitefaces were scoreless heading to the bottom of the 4th inning when play was called on Friday because of storms moving through the area. Canyon broke the tie with a run in the top of the fifth and put six on the board in the 7th to take the 7-0 win. A trio of Eagles' pitchers, Cade Olsen, Keith Contreras and Reese Seideman combined to limit the Whitefaces to just three hits in the game. Cash Hamby led the way at the plate with two hits and three RBI.

That puts the Eagles at 2-0 in District 3-4A heading into a big series with Levelland. The Lobos are 1-1 after splitting two games with Eastacado. The first meeting is Tuesday at Conner Park in Canyon with Friday's contest in Levelland.
