Amarillo High Claims 3-5A Title on Final Day of Regular Season

After missing out on two previous chances, the Amarillo Sandies wrapped up the District 3-5A baseball crown with an 8-3 win at Lubbock High on Friday. 

The Sandies jumped out to a 4-0 lead before the Westerners closed to within a run in the bottom of the 4th inning. That's when Amarillo High took control with two runs in the 5th and two more in the sixth inning.

Jake Maynard, Kade Adkins, Rhett Maynard, Jeb Jenkins and Corbin Langham all drove in runs for the Sandies, which improved to 20-8-1 on the season and finish 13-3 in district play.
