Leadership background extends beyond the court
Schnell’s background is not limited to the gym.
He holds a Master of Education Administration from Lamar University and completed a principal internship at Coppell High School, where he also served as acting assistant principal on multiple occasions.
Canyon ISD Athletic Director John Peterson said the hire reflects a commitment to the program’s future.
“Coach Schnell is committed to continuing the proud tradition of Randall Basketball by building a championship culture founded on hard work, integrity, selflessness, and excellence,” Peterson said. “He is passionate about developing young men who will succeed not only on the basketball court but also in the classroom and throughout their lives.”
