AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Three Panhandle high school baseball players earned statewide recognition after being named to the Texas High School Coaches Association Super Elite Team.

Bushland’s Wade McConnell was recognized after helping lead the Falcons to the regional semifinals and putting together a productive offensive season.

Canyon’s Carson Allen, a Tarleton State signee, also earned a spot on the Super Elite Team after helping the Eagles return to the regional semifinals. The script notes Allen anchored the defense while making an impact at the plate throughout the season.

Amarillo High’s Austin Sluder, a Midland College commit, was honored after playing a key role for the Sandies as they advanced to the area round of the playoffs.
