AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Canyon ISD announced Tuesday that Taylor Allen will lead Randall High School baseball as the Raiders’ next head coach.
Allen comes to Randall after spending more than a decade coaching at Caprock High School; 11 years as an assistant baseball coach before moving into the head coach role last season.
Allen replaces Brad Propst, who was hired by Randall in July 2023.
What Canyon ISD says he brings to Randall
Canyon ISD Athletic Director John Peterson said Allen is the right fit to lead the Raiders program.
“Coach Allen is committed to building a disciplined, hard-working team culture while continuing the tradition of excellence that has become synonymous with Raider Baseball,” Peterson said. “His passion for developing young men both on and off the field, combined with his experience as a player and coach, makes him an outstanding fit for the Randall community.”
Connections at Randall
While he was at Caprock, Allen also coached Longhorns football alongside Dan Sherwood and Ckyler Artis, who have both been at Randall since 2023.
