AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Five area girls basketball teams are competing this weekend at a showcase event designed to give players exposure to college recruiters.

The TABC Girls June Scholastic Event Showcase runs through Saturday at five Bryan venues: Legends Event Center, Bryan High School, Rudder High School, Davila Middle School and Sadberry Intermediate School.

The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches is hosting the event with the UIL, NCAA, NFHS and NHSBCA.

College coaches from Division 1 programs through junior colleges can attend the NCAA-sanctioned event. Under UIL rules, high school head coaches can coach their teams during TABC Showcases in the summer, and schools can provide resources for the event.
