CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Canyon High School will add statewide hardware to the trophy case after being named the Class 4A winner of the Texas Cup, an award recognizing the top overall athletic program in the state.
The Texas High School Athletic Directors Association presents the Texas Cup each year, separate from UIL.
Schools accumulate points throughout the year in UIL sports, with credit given for district titles, playoff advancement and strong finishes at the state level.
Canyon’s combined success across multiple programs placed the Eagles on top in 4A.
The school will receive the Texas Cup trophy at the THSADA state conference later this month.
