FRISCO, Texas (KFDA) - West Plains fell to Pleasant Grove 10-3 on Thursday in the opening game of their state semifinal series at Frisco RoughRiders stadium.
Pleasant Grove scored three runs in the bottom of the second inning. Hunter Rose was struck by a pitch, Spencer Browning walked and Buck Anderson flew out, each scoring one run.
The Hawks added a run in the third inning when Walker Wright hit into a fielder’s choice, making the score 4-0.
Reid Macon hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the sixth for West Plains.
Rose earned the win for Pleasant Grove. The pitcher allowed four hits and three runs, one earned, over six and one-third innings, striking out six and walking two. Jesse Flores took the loss for West Plains. The right-hander went three innings, allowing seven runs, six earned, on five hits, striking out six and walking four.

Macon led West Plains with two runs batted in. The outfielder went 2-for-2 on the day.
Pleasant Grove collected 10 hits in the game. Rose led the Hawks with three hits in three at-bats. Christian May and Jace Elrod each had multiple hits for Pleasant Grove.
West Plains will face Pleasant Grove in game two on Friday.
