AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Traeson Elliott signed his letter of intent with Wayland Baptist University, continuing a tradition of Tascosa football players advancing to the collegiate level.

During his senior season, Elliott rushed for 620 yards on 99 carries with eight touchdowns.

The signing represents the fulfillment of a goal Elliott has held since his youth football days.

“I’ve been wanting to play [in college] for forever. I’ve been thinking about it since Kids Inc. football in fourth grade, and just for it to become real like this today is just such an amazing feeling,” Elliott said. “Tascosa has been everything to me. I’ve wanted to be a Rebel for forever and I’m really grateful that I got to play here and be a part of this community. There’s a lot of people that went on to play somewhere else but I’m hoping that I can get on that level just like them.”
