AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Caprock Longhorns football star Joshua Rickwartz signed his national letter of intent with McPherson College.
Rickwartz played both defensive end and tackle during his high school career with the Longhorns. He hopes to remain on the defensive side as he transitions to college, but will also play a prominent role on the offensive line.
He joins several other Caprock athletes in recent weeks who are continuing their athletic careers at the next level.
“It’s been amazing, like, just all the support I’ve seen around my community, my friends and family,” Rickwartz said. “It just means a lot to know that they have my back going on further into the future.”
Rickwartz said he is ready to move to the next level and has found a place he can call home.
“I feel like they have a great program with the coaches, and I feel like I’m going to be able to build on myself and build onto my community,” he said. “Just do what you love, and don’t let no one tell you what you’ve got to do about it.”
