LEANDER, Texas (KFDA) - Three area teams wrapped up competition at the high school boys golf state championships today, with 19 local players competing at Crystal Falls Golf Club.

Amarillo High placed ninth in Class 5A with a two-day total of 629. The Sandies shot 310 in the first round and 319 in the second.

Gavin Norrell led Amarillo High with rounds of 74 and 75, tying for 22nd at five over par. Michael Barbosa tied for 50th at 14 over with rounds of 81 and 77. Cale Bright tied for 52nd at 15 over, posting 74 and 85. Jaxon Davis finished 60th at 19 over with rounds of 81 and 82. Gage Bowen tied for 67th at 26 over, shooting 83 and 87.

Farwell finished fifth in Class 2A with a 623 total after rounds of 313 and 310.

Cooper Nichols led the Steers with rounds of 70 and 66, tying for second at six under par. Braddock Foster placed 12th at four over with rounds of 75 and 71. Kyler McClaran tied for 33rd at 22 over, shooting 80 and 84. Cannon Jamison tied for 54th at 35 over with rounds of 88 and 89. Casen Williams tied for 71st at 66 over, posting 99 and 109.

Wildorado took second place in Class 1A with a 724 total, posting rounds of 361 and 363.

Hunter Corman captured the 1A individual championship at three over par with rounds of 74 and 73. Brayden Sides placed 18th at 33 over, shooting 84 and 93. Kole Skidgel tied for 39th at 45 over with rounds of 90 and 99. Stryker Lanham tied for 60th at 68 over, posting 114 and 98. Riley McElroy finished 64th at 72 over with rounds of 113 and 103.

Individual results

Canyon Randall sophomore Madden Myers tied for 15th in Class 4A at five over par, shooting 77 and 72.

Bushland’s Jenner King tied for 18th in Class 3A at nine over with rounds of 77 and 76.

Texline’s Bo Bradley placed second in Class 1A at seven over par, shooting 77 and 74.

Kress’s Drew Morphis tied for 26th in Class 1A at 36 over par with rounds of 91 and 89.
