AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo High Lady Sandies continued their dominance in District 3-5A play Friday afternoon, getting the 14-4 win over Lubbock-Cooper in five innings.
Despite a slow start, Amarillo High climbed their way out of a two-run hole in the second inning, scoring three runs.
There was no stopping the Sandstorm after that. They scored four runs in the third, two in the fourth, and finally five in the fifth to go up 10 and win the game.
Mykaela Samuels was the heavy hitter for Amarillo High, notching five of the team’s nine RBIs and also recording a home run.
Amree Anglin stepped up in the circle as well, allowing four runs off eight hits while striking out three batters in five innings pitched.
