AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Lubbock-Cooper put on an offensive clinic Tuesday, pounding out 20 hits in a 20-5 rout of Tascosa. The Pirates scored in five different innings, building an insurmountable lead before the Rebels could mount any serious threat.
The Pirates wasted no time getting started, plating two runs in the opening frame on a Cole Marshall RBI single and an Ace Leins groundout.
Six-run second breaks game open
Lubbock-Cooper blew the game wide open with a six-run explosion in the second. Jacob Garcia doubled home a run, Jax Lane singled to drive in another and Ryan Rodriguez ripped a two-run double. Bentley Seeberger drew a bases-loaded walk and Leins added a sacrifice fly to push the advantage to 8-0.
The Pirates tacked on two more in the third when Leins doubled down the left field line to extend the margin to 10-0.
Tascosa finally broke through in the bottom of the third, scratching across five runs. Braedan Lineman singled to drive in two, while Sam Adams and Reese Cabe each tripled to score one run apiece. Jude Cunningham added an RBI double to cut the deficit to 10-5.

Pirates pull away late
Any hopes of a Rebels comeback were dashed in the sixth when Lubbock-Cooper erupted for six more runs on seven hits. Seeberger crushed a two-run homer to center, Garcia lifted a sacrifice fly, Lane doubled home two and Barrett Reno added an RBI double to seal the 20-5 victory.
Garcia earned the win on the mound, scattering seven hits and allowing five runs over five innings with three strikeouts. Sam Ramirez took the loss for Tascosa, surrendering eight runs in just one inning of work.
Offensive onslaught
Lane paced the Pirates’ attack with four RBIs from the nine-hole, going 3-for-4 at the plate. Rodriguez, Jadrien Salinas and Lane each collected three hits. Garcia, Reno, Leins, Marshall and Jacen Calvillo also recorded multiple hits as Lubbock-Cooper swiped five bases and played error-free defense.
Holden True led Tascosa with two hits while Lineman, Adams and Cabe each drove in one run. The Rebels turned one double play in the losing effort.
