CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Canyon defeated Hereford 6-3 on Tuesday at Double Eagle Park.
Aiden Gutierrez opened the scoring for Canyon with a solo home run to right field in the second inning.
Hereford answered in the third when Kalub Ramirez hit a home run to right field, giving the Whitefaces a 2-1 lead.
Canyon tied the game in the bottom of the third after Andrew Bellino singled down the right field line in a six-pitch at-bat.
The Eagles regained the lead in the fourth, scoring twice on a wild pitch and a Bayler Schilling RBI single to right field.

Canyon added single runs in the fifth and sixth innings to extend its lead to 6-2. Hereford scored one run in the seventh.
Schilling earned the win on the mound, allowing three hits, two runs and zero walks while striking out five over five innings.
Ramirez took the loss for Hereford, surrendering nine hits and six runs with five strikeouts and three walks over six innings. Keegan McCulloch and Brixton Lindley pitched in relief for Canyon.
Schilling led Canyon at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs. Jake Doak added two hits in three at-bats.
Brix Machen and Parker Schertz each had two hits for Hereford, hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Ramirez finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs to lead the Whitefaces.
