AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The road to the championship continues on the pitch as the Tascosa girls soccer team keeps their postseason run alive with another trip to the regional semifinals.

After winning 2-0 Monday night in the area round against Americas, the Lady Rebels punched their ticket to the next round. For Tascosa, it’s a place they know all too well, making it this far for the third straight season.

Coach Sharp credits experience and chemistry

Head coach Hutton Sharp said his group has leaned on experience, chemistry and shared goals to help them along the way. With another shot to prove themselves on a big stage, the Lady Rebels are not ready for their run to end just yet.

“They are locked in and I’ve said this before in a number of places but we just have a program full of winners from top to bottom and they compete, they want to win, they are together which I think is a really important aspect and at this time of year especially as well since we’ve been together for so long and we don’t really want anything to kind of come between us to affect that,” Sharp said.

Sharp expressed pride in the team’s accomplishment and the opportunity ahead.
