AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Brylee Baker hit two home runs and drove in four runs as Amarillo High defeated Palo Duro 20-1 on Tuesday. Baker homered in the third inning twice as part of a dominant offensive performance.

Amarillo High got on the board in the first inning after a passed ball scored one run, Madilynn Russell singled to drive in two runs, Braelyn Banda singled to score one run, Amree Anglin singled to score one run and Claire Gonzalez hit a sacrifice fly to score two runs for a 7-0 lead.

Explosive third inning

The Lady Sandies put the game away with 13 runs in the third inning. Banda doubled to score one run, Anglin homered to center field to score two runs, Baker homered to right field to score two runs, Brinlee Baker homered to center field to score three runs, Anglin doubled to score one run, Gonzalez singled to score two runs and Baker homered to right field again to score two more runs.

Baker earned the win in the circle, allowing two hits and one run over three innings with seven strikeouts and three walks.

Amarillo High collected 17 hits in the game. Russell and Anglin each collected three hits. Banda, Baker, Braylee Shuffield and Gonzalez each collected multiple hits. The Lady Sandies ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.

Amarillo High plays at home Friday against Coronado.
