AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The #7 Childress Lady Cats defeated the River Road Lady Cats on the road in six innings by a score of 11-1.
Childress got on the board first in the first inning after an RBI single from Kaylee Felton. River Road would throw a wild pitch to end the inning, but not before Journey Prince came home.
River Road would score their only run in the bottom of the first inning after Emma Kilman grounded out and got AshLynn Ferris to home plate.
Childress added on in the second inning after an RBI single from Kaleigh Ross scored Landry Hunter.
The Lady Cats would go on to score seven straight runs in the third, courtesy of a RBI double from Felton, a walk from Hunter, a 2 RBI single from Ross, and a three-run shot from Addi Edmondson to go up 10-1.

Childress ended the game in the sixth inning after Ross grabbed another RBI single.
Both Ross and Edmonson led all batters with three RBIs a piece. Edmonson was the big winner today after totaling two runs and four hits in four at-bats. This was also her first home run of her career.
Ansley Parr pitched five total innings for Childress, notching 13 strikeouts and only allowing the one run and no hits.
Ferris also pitched all five innings for River Road, allowing 14 hits and 11 runs while striking out six batters.
