AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - It’s always an exciting time to witness an athlete make the decision to compete at the next level. For Randall football star Kaison Benton, that moment was today, putting pen to paper and making his college journey official.
Benton is staying close to home and continuing his football career at West Texas A&M. Benton has done a little bit of everything for the Raiders, playing quarterback, wide receiver and even handling punting duties.
His versatility rewarded him with first and second team all-district honors throughout his high school career.
Future Buff excited to stay home
The future Buff said he’s excited to have the opportunity to stay home, following in the footsteps of his family and being able to play in front of familiar faces.
“You know it’s right down the road and it was one of my best opportunities to go play college football and all my family has been there, my sister runs track there, my dad played football there, and my mom was school there, so I think it was just the perfect fit to stay home and let them watch my college career,” Benton said.

Benton also expressed his gratitude to all who have played a part during his time as a Raider.
“I say putting me through a lot of adversity because like college isn’t going to be easy when time comes hard, so I think they did a great job with that and then building me to the man I am today. I thank Coach Sherwood for that, Coach Artis for that, and Coach Block,” he said.
