CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Canyon softball celebrated the future today as three players made it official, signing to continue their careers at the next level. Bayleigh Burks, Ashlynn Reyna and Mylie Brown signed their national letters of intent.
Burks is headed to North Central Texas College, Reyna is taking her talents to UT Permian Basin and Brown signed to play for Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
With one season still yet to play, these future college athletes have already left their mark on their high school program. All three have all-district honors attached to their names.
Best friends share special moment
These diamond stars aren’t just teammates but also best friends. They shared the same sentiment about why signing together means so much to them and how they have encouraged each other to reach the next level.

achieve her goal.
“It’s obviously really amazing because there’s a lot that goes into the process and a lot of people will start it and they can’t make it through but I had a great support system and a lot of amazing coaches including my high school and travel coaches and they just made it a lot easier so it just feels really rewarding to get to this point and to go to the next level and achieve my dream,” she said.
Reyna spoke about the significance of sharing this moment with her best friends.
“They have been probably my two best friends since I’ve moved here about seven years ago and I wouldn’t want to do that with anyone else so pretty exciting,” she said.
Brown emphasized the rarity of experiencing this milestone with close friends.

“It’s just like really exciting to do like both with my two best friends because you know not everybody gets to do that with just people they love and like people they’ve been friends with since they were like really tiny,” she said.
Coach reflects on special group
Head coach Styler Haddock praised their work ethic and leadership qualities.
“The work they put in, I know how much they put in off the field, not around me. But I know the trust I have in them, the things they do, the things they work on, the way they lead our program, and the legacy that they’re going to leave behind. I know it’s only going to continue when they get to the next level. It’s so exciting,” he said.
He emphasized how special it has been to coach this group.
“I don’t know any coaches that are as blessed as I am to get to coach these three. If you’ve got to coach them or you’ve got to watch them play, you know it can be really, really fun,” Haddock said.
Haddock expressed confidence in their leadership and future success.
“ I trust them to lead my team. I trust them to do whatever I ask, whatever we need to do. They’re the ones that’s going to step up and do what it needs to be done. Get everybody on the same page, and I’m super excited. I can’t wait to watch them play at the next level. Those coaches, they don’t know what they’re getting,” he said.
He predicted they will leave their mark at the collegiate level.
“When they get there, they’re going to leave their mark on that program. I fully believe that they’ll be talked about not only when they leave my program, I love you guys,” Haddock said.
