STINNETT, Texas (KFDA) - The Perryton Rangerettes defeated the West Plains Lady Wolves 42-36 in the District 4-4A play-in game at West Texas High School, securing the final playoff spot.
Mallee Vela led Perryton’s third-quarter surge, hitting a three-pointer after coming off a screen when the defense went under.
The senior later converted a three-point play, making the basket and drawing a foul before heading to the free-throw line.
West Plains responded with Haven Wheeler connecting on a long three-pointer off a pass from Brenyn Treat.
Wheeler later ran a fast break and passed ahead to Addi Hahn, but Hahn’s shot attempt missed. Treat grabbed the offensive rebound and scored on the putback.
