NAZARETH, Texas (KFDA) - The Nazareth boys basketball team clinched back-to-back district titles last night after their win over Kress. With only two games left in the regular season, the Swifts are determined to finish strong heading into playoffs.

Nazareth is now 10-0 in district play and 18-8 overall. They’re on a 12-game win streak, hoping to make it 14 to end the regular season and head into playoffs.

Staying focused

Swifts head boys basketball coach Taylor Schulte said his guys have to stay levelheaded for the last few games of the regular season.

“Every rep matters,” Schulte said. “Every rep you’re getting right now on the court in the game and in the practice matters...we just can’t get in a little lull waiting for district to be over because you get excited for the playoffs to start, you’ve got to finish it. We’re in a good spot. I think we’re playing well, but we can’t just get ‘okay’ with that. We’ve got to keep building and keep climbing the ladder and just make it a steady climb all the way into hopefully March.”

The Swifts will look to finish up district play unscathed this season once again. They’ll host Springlake-Earth for their final home game Friday and then finish up the regular season on the road to Lazbuddie next Tuesday.
