AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Tascosa twins Jaxson and Ryan Armstrong have signed to play at the collegiate level for baseball and football respectively.

Jaxson will head to Grace Christian University for baseball. He has been on the Rebels varsity team for the last three years as a third baseman and pitcher.

His twin brother Ryan is heading north to the University of Chicago to join the football team. He was on the varsity team all four years and is the first drum major to also play football in Tascosa High School history.

The two have played sports together throughout their careers and are excited to take the next step while having the ability to grow on their own.

“Playing at the next level and getting to sign with my brother really means a lot,” said Jaxson. “He’s been with me since literally day one, so it’s been really special to go through the recruiting process and this experience with him. Grand Rapids is only two hours away, so I’m sure I’ll be seeing plenty of him.”

Ryan shared a similar sentiment.

“I think it’s just great that we both get to go do different things, even though we supported each other the whole way,” Ryan said. “I think it’s great that [Jaxson] gets to go do baseball [and] I get to do football. We’re only a two hour drive away, even though we’re all the way up in the Midwest. It’s good to be close, but far at the same time, we’ll get to be our own people and grow in our own ways, but we’re also always going to be there for each other.”
