CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Canyon swept Randall in district basketball action Friday night, with both teams winning 56-23 and 56-41.
Girls game
The No. 2 Lady Eagles held Randall to seven points in the first half in the opener.
In the third quarter, Canyon’s Theresa Mode drove and found Tai Wright in the corner for a three-pointer.
Randall responded with an outlet pass to Carmella Guerrero, who hit a three-pointer from behind the arc. She finished tied for a team-high with eight points.
Addi Cunningham passed to Mode, who hit a mid-range jumper after making the defense fall down.

Wright attempted another three-pointer that missed, and Cunningham’s putback attempt also missed. Kambrie Graser, the LCU commit, secured the loose ball and scored from deep.
Mode led Canyon with 15 points. Graser added 10 points, Cunningham scored nine points and Wright contributed eight points.
Lady Eagles improve to 24-2 overall and 11-0 in District 4-4A.
Randall falls to 13-17 overall and 7-3 in district play.
Boys game
In the nightcap, Canyon used an inside-out attack against Randall for Jordan Webber, who hit his second consecutive three-pointer from the wing.

Webber grabbed an offensive rebound and found Hansen Williamson open for a three-pointer.
Randall’s Tayren Combs missed a contested layup but corralled the loose ball and found Camden Hardy. The 6-foot-9 junior hit a step-back three-pointer.
Canyon continued its three-point shooting with Jesiah Aquallo connecting from the corner.
Canyon improvs to 22-6 overall and 7-2 in District 4-4A.
Randall falls to 8-19 overall and 5-3 in district play.
