AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Amarillo High School swept both team titles at the District 3-5A swim meet Friday.
Girls results
The Amarillo girls team won with 196 points, ahead of Caprock with 107 points, Tascosa with 91 points and Palo Duro with 7 points.
Amarillo freshman Deandra Canales won two individual events, taking the 50-yard freestyle in 28.04 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 1:02.61. She also anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Caprock junior Maddalena Falcioni won the 200-yard freestyle in 2:20.24 and the 100-yard backstroke in 1:08.16.
Caprock senior Natalie Rodarte won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:10.96 and also broke two school records in the process.

Amarillo junior Raelyn Bentley won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:45.72.
Tascosa senior Bella Mason won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:18.99.
Amarillo junior Meredith Flake won the 500-yard freestyle in 7:50.70.
The Sandies’ 200-yard freestyle relay team of Anna Lee, Ginny Pratt, Tavin Parsons and Canales won in 1:56.78.
Amarillo High also won the 200-yard medley relay in 2:09.71 with Canales, Pratt, Parsons and Lee and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 5:05.51 with Flake, Reagan Posey, Bella Cannon and Bentley.

Boys results
The Sandies boys team scored 246 points to win the district title, followed by Tascosa with 58 points, Palo Duro with 48 points and Caprock with 9 points.
Amarillo High senior Alec Purdy won two individual events, taking the 100-yard butterfly in 56.05 seconds and the 100-yard backstroke in 58.58. He also anchored the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team.
Amarillo junior James Drozell won the 50-yard freestyle in 22.56 seconds and the 100-yard freestyle in 52.25. His brother, freshman Jude Drozell, placed second in both events.
Sandies’ sophomore Hayden Jenkins won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:57.42 and the 500-yard freestyle in 5:21.29.
Amarillo High senior T.J. Zavala won the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:14.15.
Amarillo sophomore Simon Hernandez won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:39.41.
The Sandies’ 200-yard freestyle relay team of James Drozell, Amaka Nwokedi, Jude Drozell and Purdy won in 1:44.92.
The Sandies also won the 200-yard medley relay in 1:53.81 with Purdy, Zavala, James Drozell and Jude Drozell, and the 400-yard freestyle relay in 3:46.07 with Asher Gruhlkey, Corbin Farrar, Jenkins and Matteo Rizk.
The teams will be back in action from Feb. 6-7 in Lubbock for the regional swim meet.
