BUSHLAND, Texas (KFDA) - The Bushland Falcons will compete in the Tatum Tough Tournament, starting their holiday basketball action Tuesday.
After winning their district last season and having a solid playoff run, the Falcons are looking to replicate that success this season. They will face two tough opponents Tuesday and Wednesday, hoping the competition prepares them for district play in a few weeks.
Bushland head boys basketball coach, Connor Copley, said the team views this as the real start of their season.
“Right now is really when we feel like the season’s kind of getting started for us. We start to get more routine, getting to practice more and start prepping for district. But really just this tournament, we’re going to be tested. Canyon’s really good, you know, top 15 in 4A. So they’ll obviously playing at home. It’ll be a really tough test for us, but I’m just hoping we come out of it a better team than we go in,” Copley said.
Tournament schedule
The Falcons will face the Eagles Tuesday at noon at the Joe Lombard Gymnasium, looking for a statement win. They will then play Midland Greenwood Wednesday morning at 9 a.m.
