AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - As the high school basketball season moves along, teams across the Panhandle are continuing to keep their squads in the top 25 within their classes.
Girls rankings show strong representation
In the girls rankings from 5A-3A, the Amarillo High Lady Sandies moved up the ladder from last week and are ranked No. 8 this week. In the same district, Tascosa takes the No. 10 spot and Palo Duro captures No. 22.
One team that hasn’t moved is Canyon, remaining No. 1 in 4A. Two teams in 3A include Dalhart sitting at 18 and Canadian moving up one to 23.
In 2A through TAPPS, the Panhandle Ettes are at the top of the list with two other teams joining them: Gruver at 16 and Wellington at 19.
Three 1A teams made the rankings: Nazareth Swiftettes staying toward the top in third, Silverton going strong this season ranked No. 14, and Kress taking the 24th spot.

In TAPPS, San Jacinto Christian Academy girls team holds the No. 2 position and Accelerate Christian is in the top 10.
Boys teams equally represented
Twelve girls teams are ranked, and there are also 12 boys teams represented.
In 5A, Amarillo High and head coach Jason Pillion stay in the rankings at 22. Palo Duro Dons take the No. 24 ranking.
In 4A, two Canyon ISD schools are ranked: the West Plains Wolves ranked 14 and the Canyon Eagles continuing a great season ranked 23.
In 2A, despite a late start to the season, the Gruver Greyhounds are already making noise and take No. 15 on the list. The Farwell Steers hold the 20th ranking.

In 1A, Texline is staying at the top of the leaderboard with the fourth ranking. McLean currently has an undefeated record and takes the 18th spot. Three slots below them sits Valley at No. 21, and rounding them out is Nazareth ranked 25.
TAPPS 2A Holy Cross Academy is in the top five, and Ascension Academy keeps in the top 10, grabbing the No. 8 ranking.
