AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Randall softball standout Alyssa Navarrete made her college decision Friday morning by signing her national letter of intent to play softball at Wayland Baptist University.
Navarrete is headed to Wayland Baptist in Plainview. The future Pioneer will continue her position on the diamond as pitcher and utility player.
She has been a key piece for the Lady Raiders, showing versatility and leadership within the program.
She said being able to play for Randall helped her make the decision to go to Wayland Baptist because of her supportive teammates and the coaching staff at Wayland showing her she will be a valued member of the team.
“When I visited, they were super sweet, and I really liked the environment,” Navarrete said.
“Waddy (Coach Watson) really showed me what it’s like to be coached in a really good way, and that it shouldn’t be so negative. The girls really shaped the environment too, so that’s why I picked Wayland, was because of the environment.”
