AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Amarillo High Sandies boys basketball team took down the undefeated Lubbock Cooper Liberty Patriots Monday night, 46-42.

It was neck-and-neck the whole way, but Amarillo High hit late free throws to finish on the winning side.

Jax Richards had a stellar night himself, finishing with 20 points and the only Sandie with double-digit points.

The Sandies start district play Friday, hosting the Plainview Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. CST.
