CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Canyon baseball standout Carson Allen made his next chapter official Friday morning by signing his national letter of intent to play baseball at Tarleton State.

Allen has been a key player for the Eagles, earning all-district honors and making a name for himself at the plate and in the field.
Decision based on coaching staff and atmosphere
Allen said his decision to choose Tarleton State was influenced by the coaching staff and the feeling of being at home.
“I decided to commit to Tarleton State and now sign because the coaching staff, they’re high energy guys and Tarleton State, it feels like home,” Allen said. “From the moment I was there, I could tell that’s where I wanted to be and ultimately I made that decision and couldn’t be more thankful.”
Canyon coaches prepared him for next level
Allen credited his Canyon coaches with preparing him for college baseball.
“The family aspect, the coaches, starting with Coach Stone, Coach Williams, transforming into Coach Anderson, they push me every day to be the best man I can be,” he said. “Couldn’t be more thankful to have those guys around me all the time and they’ve prepared me very well to compete at the highest level, so I’m looking forward to it.”
