AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Two West Plains football athletes made history Wednesday by becoming the first Division I signees in the program’s history. Kane White-Tinsley and Keegan Collins signed their national letters of intent during a morning ceremony.
White-Tinsley will attend the University of Texas El Paso as a free safety, while Collins will play offensive tackle for Kansas State.

Both athletes said they wanted to attend schools that felt like home and credited West Plains with helping them make their college decisions.
“Home away from home. Players text me every single day, let me know how much they loved it. Coaches calling me every single day, asking how practice was, asking how the games went, so I just feel like home,” White-Tinsley said.
Collins said his connection to his high school coaches influenced his college choice.
“I love my high school and I love my high school football coaches. They’re great leaders, great like father figures,” Collins said. The one reason to Kansas State is, I get the same feeling that I do at Kansas State as I do here at West Plains, so that was a big deciding factor in it,” he said.
