Bushland advances to state semifinal, Randall eliminated in regional final

Lady Falcons will face Ponder in seventh straight semifinal appearance while Lady Raiders fall in three sets

AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Bushland Lady Falcons advanced to the state semifinal for the seventh consecutive year after defeating the Peaster Lady Greyhounds in four sets Tuesday.

Bushland dominates at the net

The second-ranked Lady Falcons dropped the first set 23-25 before winning three straight 25-22, 25-15, 25-14 against the fourth-ranked Lady Greyhounds.

Bushland is now two wins away from three consecutive state championships and the fifth title in the last six years.

Bushland will face sixth-ranked Ponder in the state semifinals.

The Lady Falcons controlled the match with strong net play. Dani McCampbell recorded multiple blocks, including a crucial stop in the first set when Peaster attempted to attack from the left side.

Morgan Eberly set up Laynee Adams for a kill that deflected off the Peaster defense for a Bushland point.

Sophomore Brynleigh Koeing delivered a powerful kill after Charley Freeman made a dig and Jaida Scot provided the set.

Randall season ends

The seventh-ranked Randall Lady Raiders lost in three sets to third-ranked Eagle Mountain (25-19, 25-10, 25-10), ending their season.

Amber Matthews and Chloe Brown each recorded 10 kills to lead Randall. Benett Moore had 15 assists for the Lady Raiders.

Randall finished the season 29-15, nearly doubling their wins to losses.
