DUMAS, Texas (KFDA) - The Dumas Demons are one team nobody wants to see on the opposite sideline.
“We’re a little bit different out here,” head coach Aaron Dunnam said. “We’re a blue collar community. People are gonna show up, they’re gonna be loud for us, and they’re everything. This is a community that really, really supports their kids and supports our football team.”
In Dumas, there’s one place to be on Friday nights: Demon Stadium. The Demons have been itching to get back on the field.
“Our brotherhood, we’ve all come together,” senior wide receiver/defensive back Luis Balbuena said. “Me and my guys, we’ve been working hard every day in the summer, putting in the work, you know, so it feels great.”
Football in Dumas means something. Head coach Aaron Dunnam is going into his 22nd year coaching as pumped up as ever.

“I have a passion for this game,” Dunnam said. “I have a passion to invest in kids’ lives. This is [year] number 22 for me, and it felt like number one, it really did.”
Putting on the orange and black is more than just playing a game. It’s investing in the heart of your community.
“We’ve challenged them to be selfless and I’ve seen that,” Dunnam said.
It starts with strong team leadership.
“I think our coaching staff is different,” senior wide receiver/defensive back Blake Robinson said. “They really pour in and just teach us how to be men. It is not about what we do on the field, it’s about what we do out in the town, in the school building.”
