CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - Former Canyon Lady Eagle Brooklyn Kinsey is staying in the Lone Star State after committing to run track for Texas Tech.

Kinsey will run hurdles, 400m & 800m in college.

During her time at Canyon, Kinsey was a Jill of all trades.

She spent four years at the varsity level starring for the Lady Eagles volleyball team.

She was a three year varsity athlete for the girls basketball team, helping Canyon make deep playoff pushes.

At the end of the school year, Kinsey was on the track as a multi-sport athlete, etching her name into the Canyon track record book for several different events.

This past year, the relay team of Brooklyn Kinsey, Addyson Bristow, Sydnee Winfrey and Reese Wilson not only took first place in the 1600m Relay, they set the 4A state record in the process (3:48.89).
