AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - West Plains High School has only been around for three full years, but have plenty to show in their short time of being in the Panhandle athletic wise, all thanks to talented athletes and coaches that model the ‘Wolfpack Way.’

Just this year alone, the school saw three outright district championships and many more reaching the playoffs itself.

West Plains Athletic Director, Adam Cummings, says the fact that kids want to participate in many different sports makes the school so special and successful.

“When you look at the success this early in our our school’s history, I think it’s a testament to our coaches and athletes working together to try to make our athletic program the best it can be,” he said. “I think part of that is having a year-round strength-and-conditioning program that that understands the the need of each individual sport, but at the same time, the focal point is developing athleticism, not necessarily a football player, not necessarily a basketball player, but a but a total athlete.”
