EUGENE, Ore. (KFDA) - Recent Childress grad, Taylor Wiseman, competed at the Nike Outdoor Nationals over the weekend and became a national champion in the discus.
She placed first in the discus after throwing for 168′10″, or 51.47 meters. That was over nine feet more than her state championship attempt from April, where she also placed first.
She came in third in the shotput nationally, finishing at a distance of 48′3.5″, or 14.72 meters.
She is also now a four-time All American.
She ended her high school career a three-time state champion in the shot put once and the discus twice, as well as a five-time state medalist overall.
She will continue both her athletic and academic careers at the University of Oregon in the fall, where she will compete for their track and field team.
