AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - Palo Duro Dons soccer star Merci Murama signed her National Letter of Intent (NLI) with Western Texas College on Thursday.
The senior defender capped off his final campaign with the Dons helping lead them to a third place finish in District 3-5A and an area round playoff appearance, scoring eight total points.
“High school soccer is fun,” Murama said. “Just playing with my teammates, it was a lot of fun. We had a lot of good times, so it was really fun.”
Murama is staying in the Lonestar state, joining the Western College Texas Westerners in Snyder.
He says it was the love that they showed him that helped influence his decision on where to continue his playing career.

“The coach really showed interest in me, so I went to a place where I feel like I’m wanted,” Murama said.
