Before beating Lubbock High, Amarillo High took down Caprock in a 67-point win.
Tascosa head girl’s basketball coach Chris Sumrall and Amarillo High head girl’s basketball coach Jeff Williams knows this will be a good test for both teams.
“Of course, Bella Edwards can really shoot the ball, but they got a lot of pieces around them that can play as well,” said Sumrall. “You got to be careful that you don’t focus too much on just one or two kids and that you’re you’ve got to guard their whole team. It’ll be a definitely be a challenge, especially at their place tomorrow.”
Coach Williams shared similar sentiments.
Just like Tascosa, we play a good team concept defensively,“ said Williams. ”We share the basketball. You look at Tascosa’s numbers and they’re pretty balanced. You look at our numbers...we’re balanced and I just think it makes it a tougher assignment for opponents when we do play that style."
This one will be at Amarillo High Tuesday at 6 p.m, and livestreamed on TPSN.
