Canyon dethrones Randall for first time in years with sweep victory

CANYON, Texas (KFDA) - The Canyon Lady Eagles swept the Randall Lady Raiders in three sets on Tuesday night.

Canyon got off to a hot start, defeating Randall 25-16 in the first set.

The energy in Joe Lombard Gymnasium was palpable through the entire second set, and the Lady Eagles fed off of it en route to a dominant 25-7 set victory.

Randall did just enough to make it interesting in the third set, but not enough to do any more than that, as Canyon took it 25-23.

The win marks not only Canyon’s first win over Randall in years, but the first set marked the Lady Eagles’ first set win over Randall in years. Coming into the evening, the Lady Raiders had swept at least their last five matchups.
