CLAUDE, Texas (KFDA) - The Valley Lady Patriots took down the Claude Lady Mustangs 55-46 on Tuesday.
The Lady Mustangs were off to a strong start in the game despite facing the #1 ranked 1A team in the state. Claude took a 20-18 lead into the locker room thanks in part to strong first half performances from Breanna Perez and Layla Godfrey.
Coming out of halftime, the Lady Patriots came out on fire and outscored Claude 20-6 in the third quarter.
It was a strong all-around effort from Valley as Trinty Schlueter (12 points), Laney Edwards (12 points), and Jaydan Bagwell (15 points) all finished in double figures leading the way to victory.
Perez finished with 12 points for Claude while Godfrey tied with Bagwell for a game-high 15 points.
