AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The Caprock Longhorns took down the River Road Wildcats on Tuesday behind a masterful performance from Anthony Rodriguez.
Rodriguez finished the game with 31 points in route to the win. The star senior guard came out on fire with 15 first quarter points, including four of his six threes on the night.
That performance helped Caprock build a double-digit lead heading into the second quarter and the team would continue to build on that as the game went on to come away with the victory.
Lui Aguilera finished with a team-high 11 points for River Road in the loss.
The win was key for Caprock as they now get a confidence boost heading into the district opener on Friday against Plainview. Meanwhile, River Road will get set to play the defending district champions in Bushland in the Wildcats district opener this Friday.
